The following is a call for papers for the
National SW Conference & Hydroacoustics
Workshop. In the past these meetings were
organized and help separately, and therefore have
had different audiences. In 2007, these two meetings will be held jointly.
This joint meeting has been organized primarily
for USGS, and to some extent, cooperating agency
personnel. Traditionally, attendance at the
Hydroacoustics Workshop by non-USGS personnel has
been allowed/encouraged in order to facilitate
exchange of information in the rapidly-evolving
field of hydroacoustics. This will continue for
the 2007 meeting. The web pages for accepting
abstracts are not yet functional, but will be
'live' soon. Keep an eye on the url below for updates.

CALL FOR ABSTRACTS
U.S. Geological Survey
National Surface Water Conference
and
Hydroacoustics Workshop
April 2-6, 2007
St. Louis, Missouri
The Office of Surface Water (OSW) is pleased to announce that the 2007
USGS National Surface Water Conference and Hydroacoustics Workshop is
scheduled for April 2-6, 2007 in St. Louis, Missouri. Those interested in
making presentations (oral or poster) need to submit an abstract for
consideration by the organizing committee. The conference and workshop are
a follow-up to the National Surface Water meeting in San Antonio, Texas in
November 2003 and the Hydroacoustics Workshop in San Diego, California in
March 2004.
Abstract Submission:
You are invited to submit abstracts for potential presentation.
Abstracts should be submitted electronically by December 15, 2006 and
limited to 250 words. Abstracts must include the title of the poster or
oral presentation, author(s) and affiliation(s), suggested conference theme
from the list below, and a corresponding author or contact. Authors may
choose to submit abstracts for oral or poster presentations. Not all
abstracts can be accepted for oral presentation, but everyone should be
able to participate in one of the poster sessions. Abstracts submitted by
USGS personnel do not require USGS Directorâs approval, as there will be no
published proceedings to be distributed outside of the USGS. Note: It is
always good practice to have written material peer reviewed, even if it is
not going to be Director approved.
Authors of abstracts selected for presentation will be notified by
January 19, 2007. Please note that in some cases abstracts submitted for
consideration as oral presentations maybe selected for presentation as a
poster and submissions for posters might be encourage to give an oral
presentation.
