We've had good luck using Socket Communications ruggedized I/O cards. They
are available in a dual, two serial ports card or quad, four serial port
card. The phone number is 510/744-2700, and the web site is
www.socketcom.com.
Good luck, Joe

PM adapters
We recently purchased a new Rugged Notebook M220 to use with our Sontek
Riversurveyor. It has only one serial port which seems to be the trend
these days. We usually plug our GPS receiver into a second serial port to
get more detailed data when working from a manned boat platform. We would
like to purchase a pcmcia serial card adapter for this laptop.
I thought I'd try to take advantage of everyone's experience with these.
With that in mind, can I get some recommendations on a reliable one? What
have been some pitfalls using these pcmcia cards?
Thanks,
