[Acoustics] Stage Area Ratings

Good morning all,

 

I was recently informed by a USGS employee that I was calculating the area
incorrectly, for a tidally influenced site.

 

I had been using the AreaCalc program from the Survey for a table rating of
area, after surveying the cross-section.  I was told that I needed to then
use that information and  develop a quadratic equation from those points
(Ranz) and use that data.

 

Could someone please help me out on this one?  I thought that the Ranz
information was sort of a check on how the original data looked.
