[Acoustics] ruggedized laptop

Bubba's right (it seems so wrong to say that).  We've been using the same 
Panasonic Toughbook since 2001.  It's been through downpours, blizzards, 
etc., and has been bounced around a lot.   It has a big crack all the way 
across the screen, and still keeps on ticking.  The touchscreen is neat, 
but ends up being a mess if you use it much.

We have been using the Panasonic Toughbook for a few years now and have 
not 
had any troubles whatsoever. Prior to the Toughbook we were going through 
field 
laptops like a hot knife through butter, we highly recommend the 
Toughbook. There 
are a couple different models, but I recommend you be sure and get one 
that has 
a shock mounted hard drive, that is water resistant, and has a touch 
screen. I'm 
pretty sure they are on GSA contract also.

Hello - I am considering a ruggedized lap top for use with an ADCP in the 
boat and the elements. Has anyone had good luck with a specific brand and 
make? I would appreciate any feed back on brand, size etc. If found on a 
government contract that would help also. Thanks David Hernandez
