[Acoustics] ADCP meas. and EDI points

Hi Robert,

I was just asked a similar question by one of our staff who needs to
calculate EDI points for sediment gaugings.

However he proposed an answer that will probably be quicker and
accurate enough in a flood situation. He is planning to do an ADCP
moving boat gauging to get the total discharge, then dividing that by
say 6, and then starting the transect across till WinRiver shows Q/6,
sampling there, moving out to 2 * Q/6 and taking the second sample,
etc.

Did you get any other answers to your question, as I'd be interested to
know the best way.

Does John Koschik's post (8 Feb) provide an answer? Once in Excel,
the EDI would be easy to work out.

For the job above, we will have no tagline or bridge for reference, so
will have to use that method - unless anyone has a better idea?

Regards,

John
