[Acoustics] RE: Acoustics Digest, Vol 28, Issue 2

When using the utility program INI2XML.exe to convert the StreamPro xml
files to WinRiver w.000
Format I have noticed that this program sets the "mark bad below bottom"
to NO. When displaying in winriver the "mark bad below bottom" has to be
set manually to YES each time to remove the extra 'bad' bins below the
bottom track depth.
Is there a way to have "mark bad below bottom" set to YES by default.

Lindsay,

Before playing back StreamPro data in WinRiver, you must use the utility
program INI2XML.exe to convert the StreamPro xml files to WinRiver w.000
format. Then you can playback the data files with all of the correct
settings.

The procedure is described in the StreamPro QuickStart Guide in the
"Viewing Data with WinRiver" section and in Section 4.2 of the StreamPro
Software User's Guide.

A few of us at the Anchorage field office have been using the StreamPro
quite a bit lately and have found that it doesn't always copy all of the

data from the configuration file over into WinRiver. I've seen the
profiler depth and edge estimates erased when .xml files are converted
to
WinRiver, giving you different section discharges. If you re enter your

transducer depth and edge estimates into WinRiver it will compute the
same
discharge that was recorded in the field. I have had several
successfull
conversions to WinRiver with no problems so I am not sure when this
occurs. It may be a good idea to make sure your discharges match those
recorded in the field when using this program to convert StreamPro .xml
files to WinRiver.
