Hello All,

There are only 17 days until Abstracts are due! You can submit your
abstract at:
http://www.asce.org/conferences/ewri2006/abstract.cfm

As Chair of EWRI's (Environmental and Water Resources Institute)
Hydraulic Measurements and Experimentation Technical Committee I am
recruiting you all to fill in a few Session areas for the 2006 EWRI
Congress in Omaha.
I have submitted a few ideas for acoustic measurement sessions at the
Congress.  I
know there is much good work being done in this area and I would
encourage you to share this work with other
engineers/scientists/biologists.

I am hoping people on this list will generate some technical papers
for
the Omaha Congress in the following areas- but do not be limited to
the
topics I suggest below:

1) Application of acoustic Doppler current profilers (ADCP's) for
hydraulic measurements (velocity, discharge, turbulence, sediment)
2) Quantitative Imaging Techniques (PIV, LSPIV, etc.) for Hydraulic
Measurements
3) Non-contact Measurements of Temperature, Water velocity, Depth,
Sediment, etc...
4) Hydraulic Measurements in Extreme Environments (floods, debris
flows, shallow water/low velocity measurements)
5) Hydrographic surveying techniques
6) Other Acoustic Velocimeter Measurements
*                ADV measurements
*                Turbulence measurements with ADV's
*                Field applications with ADV's
* Errors and data analysis for ADV measurements
* Multiple coupled meters used with automated profiling
systems
* Measurements of sediment concentrations using acoustic
methods
* Horizontal profiler applications - Measurement of
horizontal velocity fields

Some 2006 Congress information that might be of interest.

The Congress will be held in Omaha, Nebraska from May 21-25, 2006.

Paper Abstracts are due September 16, 2005
Author notification will be October 14, 2005
Papers are due January 20, 2006.

Thanks for your consideration and I hope to see you in Omaha.
