I've been working recently with velocity data from discharge measurements
within excel. In doing this work I tried to find a way for excel to
calculate power fits without having to make a chart every time. I was
unable to find anything to do this, so I've created an excel add-in that
contains a "powerfit" function that can be used like any other function
within excel. You provide the function with x and y values to perform the
fit to, the exponent that you wish to use (1/6), and a given x and the
function returns the y value along the power fit at the given x.
Just thought I'd offer it here so nobody else would have to reinvent the
wheel. If you want a copy, just email me and I'll send you the add-in file
- it's only 50k. Thanks to Mike Simpson for help with the formula.
